Learn the fundamentals of carbine shooting

 

Intro to Carbine

Price: $150

Course Length: 2.5 Hours


This course is designed for new shooters or those with limited formal instruction who want to build a strong foundation in carbine handling, safety, and marksmanship.


Carbine Requirements

Action Serviceable semi-automatic carbine

Acceptable Calibers

  • 223/5.56 NATO 
  • 30 Caliber 
  • 7.62x39      

Sights: Iron sights or optics are acceptable, though modern red-dot optics are recommended. 

Condition: Your rifle must be in good working order and properly zeroed prior to class.


Required Equipment

Sling

  • Two-point sling recommended 
  • Single-point slings permitted 

Magazines

  • Minimum of 6 magazines for low-capacity (10 rounds or less) 
  • Minimum of 4 magazines for standard capacity 
  • Sight adjustment tool for your carbine 

Magazine Carriers

  • Belt-mounted Kydex or leather magazine pouches 
  • Either 1 double carrier or 2 single carriers 

Protection

  • Quality      ear protection (carbine compatible) 
  • Eye      protection 

Clothing

  • Comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather 
  • Long pants and long-sleeve shirts recommended 


Ammunition Requirements

Round Count: 120 rounds

Type: Quality brass-cased, copper-jacketed ammunition. 

Not Allowed:

  • M855/SS109 Green Tip ammunition 
  • M856/M196 Red Tip ammunition
  • Steel core/armor piercing ammunition


Additional Gear

  • Sturdy belt capable of supporting magazine pouches 
  • Small notebook or notepad for taking notes 
  • Basic cleaning kit and lubrication 


Safety & Equipment Policy

Students are responsible for bringing safe and properly functioning equipment.

If a firearm or piece of equipment is unsafe or malfunctioning, the instructor may require the student to use a loaner rifle for the remainder of the course.
